Subramanian K V (Prakash)

Subramanian K V (Prakash) is the CEO and Country Head of Large global hedge fund based in the US. He currently operates from India and is establishing the Fund’s Capital presence in India. Prakash boasts 30+ years of diverse banking experience spanning Investment Banking, Treasury, Senior Management, and Governance. He has a notable track record in various markets across Asean, the Middle East, and India. In 1992, Prakash pioneered the first Middle East-based Foreign Institutional Investor (FII) in India for TAIB Bank, Bahrain. During 1996–2011, he held the position of MD & Regional Head Capital Markets for South Asia, overseeing significant capital market transactions in the region. From 2011 to 2017, he served as MD & Head Financial Markets at Standard Chartered Bank, Indonesia, leading sovereign and corporate bond issuances and contributing to ASEAN financial market governance. Between 2017 and 2022, Prakash held the roles of MD & Head – Strategy, Process, Subsidiaries & Governance, and was a Member of the SCB India Country Management Group. His extensive involvement with international financial centers includes his contribution to the development of the Gift City project and his advisory roles within the International Financial Services Centre Authority (IFSCA). He played a pivotal role in establishing the first foreign bank branch in IFSC and served on its Regulatory Committee. Prakash was also a Co-Chair of the India UK Financial Partnership Group (IUKFP). Prakash holds a Master’s Degree in Management and a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
