Subramanian K V (Prakash) is a seasoned financial services leader with over 30 years of diverse banking experience spanning Investment Banking, Treasury, Senior Management, and Governance. He has held leadership roles across global markets, including ASEAN, the Middle East, and India, with a strong track record in capital markets and financial sector development. Prakash previously served as CEO India at Millennium Capital and as Managing Director at Standard Chartered Bank. Over the course of his career, he has led significant capital market transactions and played a key role in strengthening financial market infrastructure and governance across regions. In 1992, he pioneered the first Middle East–based Foreign Institutional Investor (FII) presence in India for TAIB Bank, Bahrain. Between 1996 and 2011, he served as MD and Regional Head – Capital Markets for South Asia, overseeing major capital market activities. From 2011 to 2017, he was MD and Head – Financial Markets at Standard Chartered Bank, Indonesia, where he led sovereign and corporate bond issuances and contributed to ASEAN financial market development. Between 2017 and 2022, he held senior leadership roles at Standard Chartered Bank, including MD and Head – Strategy, Process, Subsidiaries & Governance, and was a member of the India Country Management Group. His contributions to international financial centers include active involvement in the development of GIFT City and advisory roles with the International Financial Services Centres Authority (IFSCA). He played a pivotal role in establishing the first foreign bank branch in IFSC and served on its Regulatory Committee. He also served as Co-Chair of the India-UK Financial Partnership Group (IUKFP). Prakash holds a Master’s Degree in Management and a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
